Dust Mites
Dust Mite

dustmateOur constant companions who lives with us in our homes are the small creatures called Dust Mites. They live in warm and moist places like insides of pillows, mattresses, couches and other furniture. They can not be seen with bare eyes. Their favorite meal is dead skin cells from humans and their pets.

Used mattress may have up to ten million dust mites living in it. Carpets also tend to house large colonies of these household pests, making just about anything porous liable to support the life of these most abrasive of creatures.

Dust mites are dangerous to babies and little children. If exposed to dust mites they can get allergy to dust mites. Exposure as a young child can also cause other complications including asthma, eczema, and hay fever that will last for a lifetime. Paired with cat dander, cockroach droppings, and grass pollen, these allergic reactions and side effects can become almost unbearable for many people. As the colony of dust mites grows, so does the amount of decaying body parts and fecal waste left behind from them. These waste products are the root cause for the allergy and asthma symptoms caused by dust mites.

Conserve Water

This point is often overlooked: wet extractors use large amounts of water. Further, they generate large amounts of wastewater which burdens sewers and water treatment facilities. Also, wastewater left in the carpet evaporates, humidifying buildings and forcing air conditioners and dehumidifiers to run harder and longer. Using HOST saves water. In fact, the HOST System deep cleans carpet with 97% less water than typical high-flow wet extractors. However, as HOST Dry Carpet Cleaner is ready-to-use, the actual water savings in any building using it is 100%.

Conserve Energy

Many environmental organizations recognize that it takes quite a bit of energy to heat water used in wet extraction cleaning methods. In an effort to lower costs and energy use, such organizations are supporting cleaning systems that do not use water. With DRYECOCARPET there is:

  • No water to heat

  • No need to use blowers to dry carpet

  • No need to run dehumidifiers and air conditioners to remove moisture from the carpet and air

Another common problem with carpet is waxing. Getting candle wax on your carpet may seem like a nightmare and a hassle to remove, but it is incredibly easy. Follow these simple steps to a candle wax free carpet.

First place a dishtowel on top of the candle wax. Than place the plastic baggie that is filled with ice on top of the dishtowel. After that leave on for a few minutes until the ice freezes the candle wax. Than pick off the frozen candle wax pieces off of the carpet and at the end lightly dampen the thin dishtowel with rubbing alcohol and go over the spot if there is any little left over pieces or residue remaining on the carpet.
